Great Western Forestry was recently recognized in the Canadian Biomass magazine (June 2011) for bio-energy activities concerning harvesting MPB-killed wood in Alberta. For the last 3 years, about one fifth of Great Western Forestry’s harvested MPB-killed wood is now chipped to go to various places.
Great Western Forestry is expecting 2011-2012 to be a busy MPB season. Aerial and ground surveys will begin in September in Saskatchewan. As in past years, Great Western Forestry will also be heavily involved with MPB in Alberta.
